Subsidy for Existence

Since its foundation, Renovabis has supported the livelihood of pastoral workers in diaspora situations through its Subsidy for existence. To ensure that support reaches those for whom it is intended, only people who meet the eligibility criteria agreed between Renovabis and the respective Diaspora Commission may be included in this program.

The following categories are eligible for support:

• Priests engaged in active pastoral ministry (including religious priests serving in parishes)
• Permanent deacons engaged in active pastoral ministry
• Bishops and auxiliary bishops who are actively exercising pastoral ministry and are not retired

All beneficiaries must serve throughout the entire year within the territory of the respective (Arch)diocese.

The following categories are not eligible for support:

• Religious priests who do not serve in parishes
• Seminarians and deacons
• Retired bishops, priests and permanent deacons
• Priests who do not reside and exercise their ministry within the territory of the respective (Arch)diocese

By submitting a person for support, the respective (Arch)diocese confirms that all eligibility criteria are fulfilled.
