Thema der Veranstaltung
Der gesellschaftliche Zusammenhalt steht in vielen Ländern unter Druck. Wirtschaftliche und soziale Ungleichheiten, politische Polarisierung, aktuelle oder frühere Erfahrungen von Krieg und Gewalt, Migration und die Folgen des Klimawandels sind Faktoren, die Gemeinschaften vor erhebliche Herausforderungen stellen – auf lokaler und nationaler Ebene, aber auch europaweit.
Welche aktuellen soziologischen Entwicklungen prägen die Region Mittel‑ und Osteuropa? Was macht sozialen Zusammenhalt eigentlich aus und wie lässt er sich messen? Was versteht man unter Polarisierung, und ist sie grundsätzlich etwas Negatives? Wie können Gemeinden ihre Resilienz gegen Krisen und Katastrophen fördern? Wie gelingt dabei die Beteiligung z. B. von Kindern, Jugendlichen und Menschen mit Behinderung?
Unsere Gesprächspartner berichten einerseits von wissenschaftlichen Analysen gesellschaftlicher Trends und andererseits aus der Praxis kirchlich‑sozialen Engagements über konkrete Möglichkeiten, gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt zu stärken.
Die Veranstaltung findet im Rahmen des Renovabis-Jahresthemas „zusammen_wachsen. damit Europa menschlich bleibt“ statt. Die Solidaritätsaktion nimmt damit den gefährdeten gesellschaftlichen Zusammenhalt in den Fokus nähere Informationen.

Growing together: For a humane Europe
Social Analyses and practical Examples from Slovakia and Serbia
Subject of the Event
Social cohesion is under pressure in many countries. Economic and social inequalities, political polarisation, current or previous experiences of war and violence, migration and the consequences of climate change are factors that pose significant challenges to communities – at local and national level, but also Europe-wide.
What current sociological developments are characterising the Central and Eastern European region? What actually constitutes social cohesion and how can it be measured? What is meant by polarisation, and is it fundamentally a negative phenomenon? How can communities strengthen their resilience to crises and disasters? How can the participation of, for example, children, young people and people with disabilities be successfully achieved in this context?
Our dialogue partners will report, on the one hand, on academic analyses of social trends and, on the other, on practical examples of church-based social commitment on concrete ways to strengthen social cohesion.
The event takes place as part of Renovabis’ annual theme, ‘growing together. for Europe to remain humane’. The solidarity initiative thereby focuses on the threat to social cohesion (further information.
